How democracy at school dies: an analysis of legal instruments associated with Brazilian education (2020-2021)

Resumo: The set of autocratic actions carried out by a democratically elected government would subject the Educational Institutions to processes contrary to democratic primacy. We propose bibliographic and documentary research aiming to identify and analyze autocratic elements present in legal instruments published between 2020 and 2021, which had an impact on the Federal Network of Public Education. These legal instruments were analyzed based on five indicators of broader anti-democratic actions, which were adapted to better understand its impact on the education field. The results showed that many actions of the government were autocratic, which put at risk the bases of democracy, but also offers us the chance to resist them.

Esta investigación bibliográfica y documental tuvo por objetivo identificar y analizar elementos autocráticos de instrumentos jurídicos publicados entre 2020 y 2021, con impacto en la Red Federal de Educación. Se adaptaron cinco indicadores de acciones antidemocráticas para el área de educación, a partir de los cuales los se analizaron los instrumentos jurídicos del gobierno. Se evidenció, con ese trabajo, un conjunto de acciones autocráticas del gobierno que ponen en riesgo las bases de la democracia, e incluso la posibilidad de resistirse a ellas.O conjunto de ações autocráticas de um governo eleito democraticamente submeteria as instituições de ensino a processos contrários ao primado democrático.
