Intercultural approaches to education in Kazakhstan: great gap between theoretical development and understanding

Resumo: | This article is the result of joint research by a Swiss team and Kazakh to explore issues of cultural diversity in the education sector. First, the article explores the historical specificity of cultural diversity in Kazakhstan. Secondly, we offer an analysis of the concept of trilingualism experienced in this Asian nation in post-Soviet transition. Then the third part of the article presents various concepts used in the Kazakh context to explore cultural diversity. Finally, the article presents the orientations of teacher trainers from two faculties of Kazakh national university regarding multi-intercultural education. |

Dans un premier temps, l’article explore la spécificité historique de la diversité culturelle au Kazakhstan. Dans un second temps, nous proposons une analyse de la notion de trilinguisme expérimentée dans ce pays asiatique en transition post-soviétique. Ensuite, la troisième partie de l’article présente différents concepts théoriques utilisés dans le contexte Kazakh pour étudier la diversité culturelle. Enfin, l’article présente les orientations des enseignants chercheurs de deux facultés d’une université Kazakhe à propos de l’enseignement multi-interculturel.Este artigo é o resultado de uma pesquisa conjunta realizada por uma equipe suíça e cazaque para explorar os desafios da diversidade cultural no setor da educação. A princípio o artigo explora a especificidade histórica da diversidade cultural no Cazaquistão. Em um segundo momento, propomos uma análise da noção de trilinguismo vivida neste país asiático em transição pós-soviética. Na terceira parte do artigo apresentamos diferentes conceitos teóricos usados no contexto cazaque para estudar a diversidade cultural.
