Resumo: A lírica contemporânea passa por um momento de crise nas formas de representação e também por uma crise do sujeito lírico, que aparece cada vez mais problematizado. Neste contexto, muitos poetas se voltam para o interior do próprio fazer poético, num nítido processo de autocrítica e reflexão. O poeta Manoel de Barros realiza, por meio de sua escritura, reflexões acerca dessa crise e a respeito da autoria. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar e analisar as reflexões que Barros realiza sobre a lírica e a utilização, nesse sentido, das notas de rodapé e citações (epígrafes).
