Resumo: | Primary Environmental Attention (PEA) consists of preventive and participatory environmental strategies. However, for it to be effective, it is important that its actions are carried out together with Primary Health Care (PHC), along with professionals and managers health and community. This article is a cross-sectional study of the PEA in Belo Horizonte/MG, which methodology consisted of applying semi-structured instruments for users, health professionals and managers of the Basic Health Units (BHU) of the nine health districts of Belo Horizonte. The main results of this research show that most users, health professionals and managers do not know or do not develop environmental health actions in the coverage area where they live or work. Also was found that environmental issues still need to be more addressed for managers and health professionals, in addition to users, through permanent education. To strengthen this ideal, it is essential to create instruments for the performance of certain categories of the Family Health Teams, such as Endemic Combat Agents (ECA), which could monitor areas of environmental risk in their territory of operation, adding and supporting in the systematization of the scope of Environmental Health Surveillance (EHS) actions. Thus, this ideal would contribute to the construction of a municipal environmental health policy with guidelines to be continued by environmental health surveillance professionals, articulated with PHC actions, and in accordance with the concept of PEA by the Pan American Health Organization. |
