BENZEDEIRAS/OS, WELLBEING AND SOCIOSPATIALITY

Resumo: | The text discusses human health from the perspective of the wellbeing concept, specifically through the realities of benzedeiras/os. The approach takes place in the field of decolonial perspective of knowledge, as it turns to the work of agents practicing the traditional knowledge of healing. Which bears the trust of their communities and aid the medical and scientific work in relation to the healthcare of individuals and groups. For that, the research resorted to bibliographic survey utilizing the “snowball” method, that allowed the building of the analysis developed here. The wellbeing concept is still widely discussed and has multiple interpretations. Starting from different epistemologies, this text helps to understand how the benzeção activity can serve to promote and complement wellbeing and, through this, the human health. The approach developed highlights the importance that benzedeiras/os have to the health of their communities, acting jointly in favor to the fortification of the wellbeing of the sick. It also highlights some perspectives of their socio-spatial dimension, at the same time that it points out to the necessity of further research of this perspective in the field of geography. |

A abordagem insere-se no campo da perspectiva decolonial do conhecimento, pois volta-se à atuação de agentes praticantes de saberes tradicionais de cura. Os quais portam a confiança de suas comunidades e complementam o fazer médico-científico em relação ao cuidado à saúde de indivíduos e de grupos. Para tal, a pesquisa valeu-se do levantamento bibliográfico utilizando-se do método “bola-de-neve” que permitiu a construção da análise aqui desenvolvida. O conceito de bem-estar é ainda amplamente discutido e tem interpretações múltiplas. Partindo de diferentes epistemologias o texto auxilia a compreender como a atividade da benzeção pode servir à promoção e complementação do bem-estar e, através deste, da saúde humana. A abordagem desenvolvida evidencia a importância que benzedeiras/os têm para a saúde de suas comunidades, atuando solidariamente em prol do fortalecimento do bem-estar de seus enfermos.
