Resumo: Objective: To analyze leprosy cases in children under fifteen years old. Methods: Field study, quantitative, cross-sectional, historical and descriptive series, with 48 leprosy cases from 2009 to 2018 from Rondonópolis (MT). Data collection used medical records of the Specialized Assistance Service and home visits. Descriptive statistics and chi-square and Fisher's exact tests were used; significance level of 5%; odds ratio and confidence intervals were calculated. Research approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE: 97441618.2.0000.8088). Results: The cases predominated in 2013 (18.8%), male (52%), age group 10 to 14 years (54.2%), multibacillary (64.6%) and tuberculoid (64.6%). It was possible to verify a significant statistical association between operating class and family income (p <0.0434) and year of diagnosis and multibacillary classification (p <0.0189). Conclusions: The case profile and associated factors indicate high transmissibility of the disease and the difficulty in early diagnosis in the city under study.
