A brief review of the New Macroeconomic Consensus from the 2007/08 crisis: internal questions about the conduct of post-crisis economic policy

Resumo: The last four decades have been marked by the rise, hegemony and revision of liberal thought as summarized in the New Macroeconomic Consensus. The consolidation of a "new synthesis" in the early 1990s resulted, among various economic policy guidelines, in the implementation of the inflation targeting regime in several countries, in the defense of results of a great moderation in the early 2000s and in the occurrence the financial crisis as of 2007. However, the New Macroeconomic Consensus Review in the US reassessed the impact of the crisis on the theoretical framework and on the orientation of economic policy. As a result, marginal adjustments in the conduct of economic policy are proposed to deal with the failures observed since the 2007/08 crisis.

Las últimas cuatro décadas han estado marcadas por el aumento, la hegemonía y la revisión del pensamiento económico liberal como parte del Nuevo Consenso Macroeconómico. La consolidación de una "nueva síntesis" a principios de la década de 1990 resultó en la implementación del régimen de metas de inflación en varios países, en la defensa de una gran moderación a principios de la década de 2000 y en la aparición de la crisis financiera internacional a partir de 2007. , la revisión del Nuevo Consenso Macroeconómico ha estado haciendo que el impacto de la crisis y el uso de políticas no convencionales sean relativos, proponiendo ajustes marginales a la teoría y política macroeconómicas.             As últimas quatro décadas foram marcadas pela ascensão, hegemonia e revisão do pensamento liberal compendiado no Novo Consenso Macroeconômico. A consolidação de uma “nova síntese” no início dos anos 90 resultou, dentre várias orientações de política econômica, na implantação do regime de metas de inflação em diversos países, na defesa de resultados de uma grande moderação no início dos anos 2000 e na ocorrência da crise financeira a partir de 2007. Contudo, a Revisão do Novo Consenso Macroeconômico nos EUA reavaliou o impacto da crise no arcabouço teórico e na orientação da política econômica.
