Resumo: The following article addresses productivity in Brazil from 1950 to 2018, with a focus on the period from 2010 to 2018 to investigate the impact of the economic crisis on this key variable. The research provides an in-depth analysis of the Brazilian economic scenario during these years, highlighting changes in productivity and how they were influenced by crisis events. The thesis aims to examine relevant economic literature on the subject, seeking to understand theories, models, and previous analyses that deal with the relationship between economic growth and productivity, while specifically investigating the peculiarities of the Brazilian context. To achieve this, articles from economic literature on productivity were reviewed, and an analysis of World Bank data on productivity was conducted to assess the impacts of the crisis.
