Resumo: Althea Gibson was a black tennis player who started practicing an elitist and white sport since she was a child and feel in Love with it. In the middle of an extreme historical context, with the Great Depression, World Wars, racial segregation, among others, she faced the difficulties and obstacles and fought for her dream to be the best player of her time and this is was how she managed to achieve her desire, breaking the barrier of color and winning titles thata were never achieved before like being the first black person to win the Wimbledon. Threfore, this monograph aims to analyze the narrative of the documentary "Althea" using the Greimas model and understanding how someone who, after conquering the world, was eventually forgotten and put aside and in addition give visibility to the career and life of Althea Gibson.
