Resumo: In this paper, I investigate how the writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva retold his story in the midst of two important political moments in Brazilian society: in 1982, when he wrote Feliz Ano Velho and in 2015 with Ainda Estou Aqui. The aim of the work is to analyze how the author revisits his memories in the two books, addressing issues such as politics, repression, military dictatorship, citizenship and democracy
