Resumo: | Brazil is the largest coffee producer and exporter in the world. However, the country has struggled from crops’ susceptibility to insects. One of the main insect pests is the Leucoptera coffeella, commonly known in Brazil as leaf miner. One of the challenges faced by coffee farmers is the technology to administer phytosanitary products used to control this pest. We conducted this research in order to evaluate the effectiveness to control leaf miner by using hydro-pneumatic sprayers and electrostatics, with different mixture volumes, spray nozzles, in the presence and absence of an agricultural adjuvant. The research was conducted in an experimental area in the municipality Monte Carmelo-MG, evaluating the effectiveness of hydro-pneumatic sprayer administration with different mixture volumes, 200 and 400 L ha-1, two empty hollow cone nozzles (JA-01 and TVI - 800075), the presence/absence of agricultural adjuvant in the application volume, cartap hydrochloride (500 g i.a ha-1) + orange oil (75 mL 100 L-1), also performing two further treatments, electrostatic application in the presence and absence of adjuvant mixture, and mixture volume of 200 L ha-1 and SPE-2 nozzle. In further treatments, the deposition of mixture and insect control was assessed. Parameters to the administration and control effectiveness were evaluated. The adjuvant mixture effect did not impact on leaf miner control, and the 200 L ha-1 mixture volume by the use of coarse droplets was efficient in insect control. However, the higher concentration of the product in the spray deposit associated with the decrease of the mixture volume increased the control effectiveness. |
