Resumo: | Corn is one of the fastest-growing grasses in the world and has been cultivated for over 8000 years in various parts of the continent due to its great adaptability. Second-season corn cultivation presents distinct characteristics as it is sown between summer and autumn, typically without irrigation, and in succession with soybean crops. During this period, risks increase due to reduced rainfall, and the productive potential of hybrids is also diminished. Additionally, farmers tend to invest less in fertilization in areas where the cereal is sown due to skepticism regarding productivity gains, given the unfavorable conditions that hinder growth. The objective of this study was to evaluate the residual agronomic efficiency of organic and organomineral fertilizers applied to the preceding soybean crop on second-season corn cultivation. The experiment was conducted during the second crop of the 2023 agricultural year in Tupaciguara/MG, at Agroporto farm, which has a classification of eutrophic Red Latosol soil. A randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four treatments and five replications was used, resulting in a total of 20 experimental units. The compounds Agroporto (organic) and Agroporto 2 (organomineral) were applied to the preceding soybean crop. All necessary cultural practices were performed to express the maximum productive potential of the hybrid used. To assess the effects of the treatments, evaluations were conducted for stand density, SPAD index, leaf nutrient analysis, plant height, grain yield, and thousand grain weight. The data were subjected to analysis of variance using the F-test at a significance level of 0.05, and means were compared using Tukey's test at a significance level of 0.05 with the assistance of the statistical analysis program SISVAR. The Agroporto 2 treatment (organomineral) used in soybean cultivation before corn sowing showed the highest agronomic efficiency, resulting in significant effects on several traits, particularly in terms of productivity, which had the highest average. Considering the results of the study, organomineral fertilizer can be employed as an effective technique to increase agricultural productivity in corn cultivation. |
