Resumo: Established by the Federal Constitution and also by Law No. 9,263 of 1996, reproductive planning, more commonly known as family planning, is defined as the set of measures of fertility control that guarantees the rights of the couple, the woman or the man equals of limitation constitution or increase of offspring (BRASIL, 2014). Objective: To analyze the profile of patients who participated in the reproductive planning program, focusing on those who did not complete the process. Methodology: This is a census-based quantitative approach. The project was approved by the UFU Ethics Committee in Human Research (Opinion No. 3,014,121). Data collection took place in the period from September to October 2018, was carried out in the archive sector of the Hospital de Clínicas de Uberlândia, in the city of Uberlândia-Minas Gerais, and through Phone calls. Results: Twenty-two subjects who underwent reproductive planning from January 2017 to January 2018 participated in the study, where 83.1% were women aged 13-48 years and 16.8% were men aged 27-55 years. It was observed that the majority of participants 60.7% were married. The demand for the service was higher among people with 2 or more children 49.0%. Most 59.4% opted for the IUD as a contraceptive method. Of those who did not complete the procedure, 26 (12.8%) of the patients were contacted, only nine of them, two were men, one vasectomy was withdrawn for fear of surgery, three women said they had a desire to to continue the process and six opted for oral contraceptives. Conclusion: It was verified with this study that, although in a discreet way, the men participated in the process of reproductive planning. As evidenced in other studies, most people who participated in reproductive planning were married and had two or more children. It occurs that the percentage of patients who did not complete the process found in this study was (12.8%), a good result, considering that 87.2% of adherence to the methods.

Objetivo: Analisar o perfil dos pacientes que participaram do programa planejamento reprodutivo, com enfoque naqueles que não concluíram o processo. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo censitário de abordagem quantitativa, sendo que o projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisas com Seres Humanos da UFU (Número do parecer: 3.014.121). A coleta de dados ocorreu no período de setembro de 2018 a outubro de 2018, tendo sido realizada no setor de arquivos do Hospital de Clínicas de Uberlândia, na cidade de Uberlândia - Minas Gerais e por meio de ligações telefônicas. Resultados: Participaram do estudo 202 indivíduos que passaram pelo planejamento reprodutivo no período de janeiro de 2017 a janeiro de 2018, sendo que 83,1% eram mulheres, com idades entre 13 a 48 anos, e 16,8% eram homens, com idades entre 27 a 55 anos. Observou-se que a maioria dos participantes (60,7%) era casada, que a procura pelo serviço foi maior entre as pessoas com 2 ou mais filhos (49,0%) e que a maioria (59,4%) optou pelo DIU como método contraceptivo. Quanto aos que não concluíram o processo, sendo 26 pacientes (12,8%), foi possível fazer contato com apenas nove, destes, dois eram homens, um desistiu da vasectomia, por medo da cirurgia, três mulheres disseram que têm o desejo de dar continuidade ao processo e seis optaram pelo anticoncepcional oral. Conclusão: Verificou-se com este estudo que, ainda que de maneira discreta, houve participação dos homens no processo de planejamento reprodutivo. Como evidenciado em outros estudos, a maioria das pessoas que participaram do planejamento reprodutivo eram casadas e possuíam dois filhos ou mais.
