Estereótipos da carreira contábil: uma análise sobre a percepção de alunos de cursos pré-vestibulares sobre a profissão contábil.

Stereotypes have emerged as a way to simplify the world view, being considered as the first image that comes to mind when the individual is faced with certain situations. Over the years, the image of the accounting professional has been negatively stereotyped and the target of several studies. This study aimed to analyze these perceptions and whether such stereotypes lead pre-college students to opt for another course. To answer such questions, a questionnaire adapted from Azevedo's photo-questionnaire (2010) was applied. The results generally suggest that the students have a positive image about the accounting professional, however, the majority did not choose the course as an option for the entrance examination due to lack of indication of the family, not to identify with the course and to ignore the office of the accounting professional, thus demonstrating that the image of this professional is not directly related to his professional choices.
