Industry 4.0 is a topic that has been gaining space in recent years and its implementation in business is fundamental for the growth of many countries that are increasingly seeking to develop according to the current industrial scenario. Therefore, understanding how it will transform the market is essential for countries to adapt in a flexible and safe way. This research aims to understand how Brazil behaves when faced with the possibility of implementing Industry 4.0 in its business. The study brings the main transformations to Industry 4.0 along with its principles and pillars, insertion of some countries to the new model and the identification of problems and challenges to be faced by Brazil in the adoption of the new industrial model. The study has an exploratory nature based on a bibliographic survey, allowing the creation of a more general understanding of a scenario/subject under discussion. The study identified that countries such as Germany, the United States of America, China and Japan are references today in their industrial models and are well ahead of Brazil, which is shown to be lagging behind industrially due to the fact that it has obstacles such as the absence of national industrial policies, little investment in research and development, low qualification in the workforce and difficulties in the partnership of public and private sectors having all these problems as challenges to be overcome in order to implement Industry 4.0 in its business so that it is not far behind other countries.
