Influência da configuração do remanescente dentário em incisivos centrais tratados endodonticamente – Análise por elementos finitos

The presence of a non-uniform remaining raises questions whether there will be greater or less predictability in the restorative procedure. The goal of this work was to analyze by means of finite elements the distribution of strains in teeth with different coronary remnants configurations restored with composite resin. In the modeling software, Rhinoceros 3D 5, restorative conditions were created according to the remainder variation and divided in groups. The group 1 with palatal of 4mm and other faces of 1 mm; group 2 with vestibular of 4 mm and other faces of 1 mm; group 3 with mesial of 4 mm and other faces of 1 mm; group 4 with vestibular and mesial of 4 mm and other faces of 1 mm; group 5 with palatal and mesial of 4 mm and other faces of 1 mm. The models were exported to the finite element program ANSYS, where the simulation was done with fiberglass post and without the post, totaling 10 groups. A 100 N loading was applied to the models’ palatal surface with a 135 ° angle to the tooth longitudinal axis. For the results analysis, the criteria of maximum principal strain were used. As a result, it was observed that the strains accumulate in the palatine wall, and the increase of this was significant for the reduction of these strains. The post presence was fundamental when having a lower palatine wall (group 4).
