ABSTRACT - Observing the development of Brazilian cities, it can be seen that the actions were planned focusing on motorized and individual circulation to the detriment of non-motorized urban mobility (pedestrians and cyclists) and public transportation. The result of this process is cities with poor quality of life, where there are few spaces for walking or cycling, long traffic jams, decay of public transport, increased pollution levels, conflicts and traffic accidents. This scenario has a negative impact on sustainable urban mobility, as spaces become inaccessible and do not provide adequate and secure infrastructure. This monograph aims to discuss urban mobility, specifically accessibility for wheelchair users on the sidewalks of downtown Uberlândia-MG. Sidewalks highlight the need for intervention in public policies to prioritize non-motorized displacement and to seek an improvement in people's quality of life. Thus, sustainable and inclusive urban mobility appears to provide some principles that can be followed and used by the municipality to ensure greater security, access, comfort to its population, especially the PwD, and consequently the improvement of their quality of life.
