Resumo: Sports journalism has changed over the years, and what was once an exclusively male territory has been updated and is receiving more and more female professionals. The presence of women in this journalistic editorial is gradually more expressive and points to contemporary problems, previously nonexistent in this area. In this scenario, cases of harassment of sports journalists surfaced and highlighted the difficulties these professionals went through. It is in this context that the hashtag DeixaElaTrabalhar was created by a group of sports journalists as a manifest against harassment suffered by them in the workplace. Given this context, this paper aimed to understand the role of this # in promoting the repercussion of harassment cases suffered by sports journalists. Based on this concern, theoretical conceptualization was made on two macro themes: communication in the context of virtual social network and sports and women. We sought to understand the characteristics of mass media and self media and how cyberactivism is present in social media. There was also a brief historical synthesis about women in sports journalism and how the issue of gender influences the profession of sports journalist. From the methodological point, this work made use of the multiple case study method proposed by Yin (2010). Three Instagram publications were selected and analyzed, all from 2018, chosen from a comparative perspective, which sought to investigate the scenario before, during and after #DeixaElaTrabalhar. It can be concluded that # fulfilled its role as cyberactivism and was also a point of support among sports journalists. However, views, likes, and comments are still inaccurate to gauge the actual effect of the movement, as these indicators do not clarify whether or not there was actual awareness. Finally, it is also noticed that sports journalism is still a male editorial and taken by sexism.
