Due to the constant advance of the technology in civil construction and the constant search for rationalization, productivity sharpening and time optimizing, the demand for tools that enable those improvements is common among companies and professionals who seed market prominence. Given this competitive scenario, BIM proves to be an essential tool to achieve success in construction. In addition to optimizing projects, the methodology allows greater transparency of the process, which among other factors has caught the attention of the Brazilian Government, which has been taking more and more investments into this technology. The present work has as general objective to elaborate a manual for elaboration of projects using the platform BIM with enough parameters for extraction of the quantitative necessary to make the budget of the work. For the construction of the manual, a small construction was chosen and Revit software was used for the modeling. It is worth mentioning that the work already possessed the projects in 2D CAD and were modeled in BIM, the architectural, structural, hydrosanitary and electrical projects. In this way, a general study is presented that contemplates the whole project phase, from the modeling of the different disciplines till the budgeting, allowing a broad view of the process and the dissemination of accumulated knowledge. Finally, it was analyzed the method of budgeting adapted and it was concluded that the procedure required a high effort in the modeling stage, but it facilitated the compatibilization and 3D visualization of the projects and the extraction of the quantitative ones.
