Resumo: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought, in addition to deaths and hospitalizations, negative psychological impacts for the population and healthcare community. The high transmissibility of the virus, anxiety due to isolation, and fear of death were experiences felt more intensely by hospitalized patients, families, and frontline healthcare workers. In response, psychologists working in hospital settings faced a significant demand for care, and their tools required adaptation to the new scenario, marked by reduced physical contact. Therefore, the aim of this article was to map the strategies used by hospital psychologists amid the pandemic, as well as to reflect on the difficulties experienced by these professionals in the workplace. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted, selecting 14 articles published between 2020 and 2023 of the experience report type, from online databases: BVS, Capes, PePSIC, and Google Scholar, using the descriptors "hospital psychology," "COVID-19," and "report" combined. The results highlight actions involving remote communication, face-to-face activities, and the difficulties encountered in practicing hospital psychology. It was observed that, despite face-to-face strategies being maintained through biosafety protocols, the use of technology in this context was frequently utilized for teleconsultations, online counseling, remote psychological support sessions, and virtual visits. Additionally, the importance of training and capacity-building for healthcare professionals, as well as the promotion of mental health, is noted for the effective performance of their roles within the hospital. The strategies adopted during the pandemic have proven to be valuable and could serve as important measures even after the pandemic as permanent strategies.
