Resumo: | The digits may present non neoplastic and neoplastic changes, being these benign or malignant. The most common clinical signs are the presence of a mass in the digit and / or claudication of the affected limb. Treatment varies according to the histological type and location of the neoplastic lesion. Although digit neoplasms are common, data on prevalence and prognosis are scarce. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate t he diagnoses attributed to lesions to better define the occurrence of neoplasms in this location, to carry out epidemiological characterization and to identify relevant prognostic factors, through association with survival. From the archives of the Laboratory of Animal Pathology of the Federal University of Uberlândia, cases of digit digit lesions were selected from excisional biopsies or necropsies performed from 2006 to 2016. The collection of epidemiological data such as race, gender, age , color of the hair, as well as the macroscopic characteristics and the location of the tumor, was performed from the analysis of the clinical records of each dog. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the survival curve and to estimate the time of remission. The most frequently observed neoplasms were squamous cell carcinoma (22.03%), mastocytoma (16.95%), histiocytoma (13.56%) and melanoma (8.47%). Older females and dogs were the most commonly affected. Non-breed animals (SRD) (33.80%) were the most affected, followed by Rottweiler dogs (18.31%). Total survival is influenced by age and sex, with elderly and female dogs presenting lower survival rates. |

Universidade Federal de UberlândiaBrasilMedicina VeterináriaMedeiros-Ronchi, Alessandra Aparecidahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6877724175343385Alves, Aracelle Elisanehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8487626115606398Coleto, Arlinda Floreshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5108890349498820Santos, Heloísa Cristina Teixeira2018-11-27T16:17:14Z2018-11-27T16:17:14Z2018-06-28info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfSANTOS, Heloísa Cristina Teixeira.
