The present work aimed at to map the urban partner-space inequality of Montes Claros/MG's city, the year of 2000, with the use of techniques of the geographical information system. In a more way it specifies, this work looked for to understand the partner-space consequences of the process of urban growth of Montes Claros, starting from the decade of 1970, identifying and analyzing, with aid of the, the most lacking areas and, also, the richest areas of the city. Being like this, the geographical information system subsidized a discussion about the relationship between the urban growth and the partner-space inequality, making possible finally, to propose a new intra-urban division in areas of planning, that has as criteria to likeness social and economical, the geographical location and the popular knowledge, allowing with that, a larger visibility of the situation of presented social duality. Therefore, the study of the partner-space situation of the city Montes Claros, through the geographical information system, it is a contribution to understand the partner-space reality, have seen that he/she makes an unpublished discussion on that city, besides, it can be used, also, to subsidize the actions of the municipal public power with relationship to the urban planning and the social development.
