This research intends to analyze the subprime crisis and its aspects and consequences in Brazil and in some countries in the center of capitalism. The method used in the research will be conducted by a literature review in the area, seeking a bibliography review that is chronologically close to the advent of the crisis, using more current research, so that elements can be found that allow understanding the developments in the national economy. The relevance of discussing the subprime crisis is evident in view of the impacts that marked the end of a period of relative economic ascension, and specifically in Brazil, a construction of years of consumption and economic growth. Compared in certain aspects with what was considered the greatest crisis of capitalism: the great depression triggered by the 1929 crisis, the outbreak of the subprime crisis highlighted not only the fragility of the global and interconnected economic system, but also, like financialization, a of the causes of the crisis, occupies a large portion in the current economic system. The Subprime crisis revealed different reaction strategies by governments in relation to economic policies around the world, ranging from tax breaks in Brazil and incentives for consumption with the reduction of interest rates to cuts in labor rights and the adoption of a more austere and conservative policy in Europe, when compared to that adopted in our country.
