The reproductive structures, the production of eggs, pollen and fruits, flowers often vary between plants. At the same time, resource allocation can also change in space and in time for an individual, due to local competition for resources. From the diversity of sources of variability between plants and their respective positions, we assessed the existence of Asphodelus fistulous positional effects. This study sought to clarify whether these results are due to a decrease in the availability of resources as a result of the development of the fruits of the proximal position of the inflorescence, or if it is due to the presence of architectural effects on the plant. This work shows that, independent of the procedures used, the floral architecture influences almost all the variables included in this study, assuming, therefore, that the development of reproductive structures is closely related to the floral architecture of the species.
