This paper aims to find out whether there is any relationship between Christianity and paganism in Rome during the fourth century. Initially we present different views of events, developed mainly in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the moment in which the debate about history - as a specific area of knowledge - is at its peak. In contrast to the reflections of historians Ambrogio Donini and Peter Brown, that in their studies describe in details the process of Christianization of the Roman Empire, we seek to support the view of event of historian Paul Veyne and we took as starting point the conversion of Emperor Constantine in the year 312, which appears as a prominent event in one of Veyne‟s articles, despite of not being the center of the narrative, but it helps us to understand that Christianity and paganism share space, beliefs and customs during the fourth century and goes beyond the systematization of a comparative table.
