Enteroparasitoses represent one of the world's largest public health problems, with prevalence in children aged 3 to 7 years, mainly because of their geophagic practices. Leisure or recreation areas that have sand or ground may harbor different parasitic forms, contributing to the contamination of humans, animals and the environment. The objective was to evaluate the presence of helminths in the leisure and recreation areas of Ituiutaba-MG. Five soil samples were collected at each site, using a PVC pipe, plastic bag and gardening shovel. As the samples were conditioned in “pool” bags, identified by location, data and soil temperature, sent for analysis by Ritchie, spontaneous sedimentation and Rugai methods. Twenty samples were analyzed, 70% (14/20) and less larvae / eggs of some helminth, such as Ancylostoma caninum (85.7%; n = 12), Toxocara sp. (64.3%; n = 8), Strongyloides stercolaris (14.3%, n = 2), Dipylidium caninum (7.14%, n = 1), Hymenolepis sp. (7.14%, n = 1) and Spirometra mansonoides (7.14%, n = 1), showing sites with polyparasitism. A wide variety of parasitic forms presented show the need to implement educational actions mainly in relation to the animals that inhabit these places
