Indianópolis is a municipality in Minas Gerais characterized by the diversity and scenic beauty of its waterfalls, such as Salto de Furnas and Cachoeira de Mandaguari. In the highlighted areas, biotic and abiotic aspects are observed whose valuation and conservation must be considered by the community that lives or visits there. For this reason, Ecotourism is a viable alternative as it presents significant economic, social and environmental benefits to the municipality. In this sense, the proposed objective work carried out a survey of potential for the creation of an interpretative ecological trail between Salto de Furnas and Cachoeira de Mandaguari, which complements existing proposals on the geotouristic potential of these falls, including natural biotic elements and enabling a broader view of natural patrimony and its conservation. The methodology adopted in this project is based on the assumptions of qualitative research of a descriptive nature and the analysis procedure is represented by a bibliographic and documentary research complemented by a field survey. From the procedures it was possible to identify the following results: important characteristics related to the richness of bird species, the different plants of the Cerrado, the diversity of rock formations and existing landscapes, which could support the creation of an interpretative, linear and self-guided ecological trail, between Cachoeira de Mandaguari and Salto de Furnas. It is believed that the implementation of this route could bring improvements to the local economy and reduce negative environmental impacts on the natural patrimony of Indianópolis.
