Through historical research, which is also artistic and philosophical, it was possible to discuss the main concepts related to the Illuminations illustrated by the Maître de Rouen, for example representation, image and iconicity. The 15th century illuminated productions studied here were not found randomly and accessible to the public in the streets of the cities of European. Most of them were available in the Books of Hours, which also contained liturgical calendars and other texts concerning the Medieval Church, as well as Christian History. By illustrating the passages of Christ's life from birth to resurrection, in one of the moments represented by the Maître of Rouen it is possible to perceive the manifestation of the Holy Trinity, namely the Annunciation. The moment of the visit of the Angel Gabriel to the promised virgin, Mary, was opportune for the manifestation of the three persons of the medieval Christian God, namely: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, besides also evoking other divine figures, as is the case of the angels. Thus, the focus of this study is the medieval European universe in the effervescence of the Universities, but also in a period of crisis and famine. Therefore, it is propitious to understand in what way these productions and the representations of the Holy Trinity soothed the stunned souls waiting for the Salvation and look at the articulation of interests of the Medieval Church institution with those of the devotees.Pesquisa sem auxílio de agências de fomentoTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)O presente trabalho é fruto de inquietações que cercam os imaginários da História Cristã e do que chamamos de História Medieval. Através da pesquisa histórica, mas que também não deixa de ser artística e filosófica, foi possível debater conceitos principais relacionados às Iluminuras ilustradas pelo Maître de Rouen. O texto prioriza conceitos como os de representação, imagem e iconicidade. As produções iluminadas do século XV que são aqui estudadas não eram encontradas de maneira aleatória e acessível ao público nas ruas das cidades europeias. Em grande maioria, elas estavam disponíveis nos Livros de Horas, que continham também calendários litúrgicos e outros textos concernentes à Igreja Medieval, bem como à História Cristã. Ao ilustrar as passagens da vida de Cristo, desde o nascimento até a ressureição, escolhi um dos momentos representados pelo Maître de Rouen em que é possível perceber a manifestação da tríade Santíssima, qual seja o da Anunciação. O momento da visita do Anjo Gabriel à virgem prometida em casamento, Maria, foi oportuno para a presentificação das três pessoas do Deus Cristão medieval, são elas: o Pai, o Filho e o Espírito Santo, além também de evocar outras figuras divinais, como é o caso angelical. Assim sendo, o enfoque principal do presente estudo é o universo medieval europeu no efervescer das Universidades, mas também em um período de crises e de fome.
