Resumo: In this work, we study geometric algebraic codes (AG codes), which are linear codes built on algebraic curves in finite fields. To do so, we introduce some basic notions of finite fields theory and function fields. We study a theory of error-correcting linear codes to understand and substantiate the construction of AG codes. In the end, we build AG codes over a Hermitian Curve and display the code parameters.
