This paper seeks to elucidate the main problems faced by Brazilian immigrants in the Japanese labor market, especially the difficulties related to long working days and the main positions offered by Japanese companies to the Brazilians. It is possible to say that one of the main causes of this problem is the insertion of part of the immigrants in the informal labor market of Japan, which leads to a precarious work situation, often due to the lack of knowledge of the labor rights by Brazilians. Besides, a great part of Brazilians workers who compose the Japanese formal labor market, and who have rights guaranteed by law, have a little knowledge of Japanese labor laws, which is also a serious problem. In addition to cultural factors, little knowledge of Japanese labor laws occurs because the main objective of Brazilians who migrate to Japan is to work, regardless of the type of task and the conditions offered, allowing Japanese companies to impose on foreign workers conditions that they find most advantageous and cheap for them. This paper seeks to make an introduction to the theme, exposing the main reasons that led Brazilian workers to seek opportunities in Japan, the difficulties faced by them, as well as a brief analysis of those people who have decided to undertake some risk and start their own business.
