This present work contemplates the construction of a didactic bench for the laboratory of thermal machines, since it did not have similar equipment, considering that the author always had an interest in the area, being an opportunity to develop something related to the subject. Enabling students of both the Thermal Machines discipline and students from other disciplines to acquire or improve their knowledge. The bench consists of a compressor unit, which has had its compression cycle elaborated and its operating parameters calculated through thermodynamic relationships found in books and publications, with the help of Excel software and drive unit, which is adequate to the performance requirements of the compressor unit. It also has essential accessories for its correct operation, such as: a properly sized tank, valves, sensors for extraction of operational data and electrical devices that guarantee the integrity of the workbench and who to operate. It was necessary to choose a constructive geometry that made possible the transport in a luggage compartment of a common vehicle. A cost estimate and a compressor performance analysis are presented later.
