Resumo: In May 1897, the book Dracula was published in London. Its theme, intrigued the critics of the time, but it would only be in the future that the work, and mainly its main character, would be used tirelessly in diverse cultural manifestations. In the present work, it is intended, first, to explain the life of the author Bram Stoker and the context in which he is inserted, which culminated in the construction of the concepts and inspirations that led him to create Dracula. In addition to highlighting the first criticisms directed at the book, this research seeks to explain two of the most famous cinematographic adaptations of the work, in addition to considering the various perceptions and other adaptations.
