The paper consists of the project of a scenographic city, from a written script, the book "One hundred years of solitude" by Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The city was designed with the purpose of serving as the setting for an animated film. In this context the reason for the city to exist is to portray a story, suffering influence of the urban transformation driven by the interactions present in the narrative. The book tells the story of the Buendia family, founder of the city of Macondo, and tells story of the life of these characters through seven generations, and tells the evolution of the city during that period of time. The history of the family and the city intertwines, where Macondo is at the same time the scenary of the history and the consequence of it. This paper deals with literature and cinema, applying concepts of architectural design and urbanism to build a unique and functional scenographic city for animation cinema.
