Squamous cell or squamous cell carcinoma is a rapidly evolving malignant neoplasm that appears in the epidermis, the most superficial layer of the skin, especially affecting regions of the body most exposed to solar radiation such as the face, head, neck, arms, hands and feet. Treatment of squamous cell carcinoma involves surgery to completely remove the tumor, possibly followed by radiotherapy sessions. This can result in oral­sinus communication, implying the use of a personalized obturator prosthesis, which aims to closedefects in the palate region, reestablishing chewing and phonetic functions. The purpose of this work is to report the oral rehabilitation of a patient who underwent partial resection of the maxilla that led to an oral­sinus communication. 77­year­old male patient underwent numerous resections and radiotherapy sessions at the Uberlândia Cancer Hospital, which resulted in the total loss of the nose with exposure of the nasal turbinates, total resection of the right ear and a buco­sinus communication. Thus, aiming at oral rehabilitation and taking into account the deformities caused, a removable total upper obturator prosthesis was manufactured with the aim of sealing the oral­sinus communicationand a conventional lower total prosthesis; restoring chewing, swallowing, phonetics and patient comfort. The patient underwent rehabilitation with a complete upper removable obturator prosthesis and a conventional lower total prosthesis. Improvements in phonetics and greater comfort when chewing and swallowing were noted, resulting in a positive impact on the patient's quality of life.
