Resumo: Tomato crop management techniques aim to produce fruits with higher quality and lower cost. One of the strategies of genetic improvement is the launch of new genotypes that present better nutritional performance, transforming the absorbed nutrients into high quality biomass. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the growth and nutrient uptake rates of tomato genotype 4572. The experiment was conducted in the Martinesia district of Uberlândia, MG. The experimental design was a randomized block design with eight treatments and three repetitions, with the treatments consisting of plant collection periods (14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 84, 98 and 112 days after transplanting). The following biological parameters indicating the development of the plants were evaluated: stem height (cm), diameter (mm), total fresh mass (g), leaf fresh mass (g), stem fresh mass (g), fruit fresh mass (g), number and weight of fruits (g), determination of dry mass; macronutrient and micronutrient contents in the different plant organs (leaf, stem and fruit) and productivity, by averaging the fresh mass of the fruits from all the plants harvested. The results showed an increasing development of stem height until 98 days after transplanting (240.8 cm); the biggest diameter was reached at 84 DAT (16.94 mm), and for fruit quantity the results were increasing until 112 DAT (244 fruits). There was a constant increase in plant dry matter until 98 DAT, when the maximum accumulation of dry biomass occurred. The accumulation of nutrients varied during the sampling period among the macronutrients and micronutrients, with the decreasing order of uptake of macronutrients and micronutrients in the leaves, stems and fruits being, respectively: Ca>N>K>Mg>P>S - Fe> B>Mn>Zn>>Cu and K>N>P>Ca>Mg>S - Fe>Zn>Mn>B>Cu.
