Revisão integrativa como estratégia para descrever os principais motivos, que levam a suspensão de cirurgias eletivas.

It is a review integration with the purpose of performing the thematic analysis of knowledge in journals, trying to answer the guiding question: What are the reasons that lead to the cancellation of elective surgeries? The study included articles published between 2006 and 2018, in the languages Portuguese, English and Spanish, with complete articles available in the databases BDENF, MEDLINE; LILACS and PUBMED. In the literature were found 10 articles that describe and contextualize on the topic addressed. The model of Mendes, Silveira and Galvão (2008) was used for analysis and synthesis to research in a systematized way, and for the analysis of the content of each article and data extraction, it was used in the instrument of (URSI, 2005 apud SOUZA; SILVA . Through this review, we propose interventions to minimize surgical cancellation, such as: improving communication between institution and user, performing and pre-anesthetic evaluation, confirming the presence of the patient on the date of the surgical procedure, guaranteeing hospital beds, confirmation with medical team about the surgical scheduling and the presence of the team, as well as monitor the indicators and institute study groups related to the topic.
