Insects are the animal group with the largest number of species already described. One of then is the Calliphoridae family (Diptera), that has several species associated with the anthropic environment which develop great medical sanitary and forensic importance. This study had as objective to know the species of Calliphoridae (commonly known as blow flies) attracted by different pig substrates and from this study obtain information about the entomofauna of forensic interest. Four traps were used with baits of different swine tissues (brain, liver, intestine and muscle) to attract flies. Those substrates were exposed in two distinct environments of a rural area, during two predominant seasons of the year in Uberlândia-MG. The environments studied were pasture and semideciduous seasonal forest areas and collections were made for five days of 2015. A total of 3,080 individuals belonging to nine species of Calliphoridae were collected in this study. All baits / substrates were taken to the Laboratory of Entomology of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the Federal University of Uberlândia for the identification of the species. Lucilia eximia was the most abundant, followed by Chrysomya albiceps. The substrates attracted a large number of flies, several of them are considered forensic and seasonal indicators.
