Resumo: The present text seeks to understand the concept of education, according to Immanuel Kant. Will be approached his conception of History as progress and the construction of each man, with individual progress, which only becomes possible together and with each succeeding generation. Kant insists on the importance of the development of human dispositions, on the other hand the philosopher Walter Benjamin criticizes History as progress, stating the existence of an illusion of this path towards progress. The History marks important events that must be remembered according to Benjamin. In this way we intend to investigate the way of Kant to think of History as progress. Discipline will be a very important tool in this course, so, at birth each should be educated to make good use of his own reason. Kant states that man will only be a true man, by submitting to the educational process.

Abordaremos sua concepção de história como progresso e a evolução de cada homem a partir de um progresso individual que só se torna possível em conjunto e na sequência de cada geração. Kant insiste na importância do desenvolvimento das disposições humanas, por outro lado, o filósofo Walter Benjamin critica a história como progresso, afirmando a existência de uma ilusão desse percurso rumo ao progresso. A história marca acontecimentos importantes que devem ser lembrados, de acordo com Benjamin. Desse modo pretendemos investigar o percurso percorrido por Kant, para se pensar a história como progresso. A disciplina será uma ferramenta muito importante nesse percurso, assim, ao nascer, cada um deve ser educado para fazer o bom uso da sua própria razão.
