Estudo da fauna de flebotomíneos (Diptera: Psychodidae) no Parque do Sabiá, Uberlândia - MG

The leishmaniasis are classified as neglected diseases, although they are serious public health problems in Brazil and in more than 90 countries where they are present. They come in two clinical forms: cutaneous and visceral, depending on the species of Leishmania involved. One of the important aspects of leishmaniasis in Brazil, is the adaptability of its phlebotomine vectors (Diptera: Psychodidae), in urban environments, mainly in green areas such as parks intetend the population. In this context, this study aimed to analyze the phlebotomine fauna of the Sabiá Park in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. A survey was conducted from December 14, 2018, to June 6, 2019, once a week, at 4 selected points within the zoo using the Center on Disease Control (CDC). Over 22 catches in 6 months of research, 47 specimens were found, related to 7 species of the genus Lutzomyia: Lutzomyia (Psychodopygus) davisi (Root, 1934) 2.1%, Lutzomyia: Lutzomyia cortelezzii (Brèthes, 1923) 2.1%, Lutzomyia (Psychodopygus) davisi (Root, 1934) 2.1%, Lutzomyia (Psathyromyia) lutziana (Costa, 1932) 6.3%, Lutzomyia mamedei (Oliveira, Afonso , Dias, and Brazil, 1994) 2.1%,Lutzomiyaneivai(Pinto, 1926) 2.1%, Lutzomyia whitmani (Antunes and Coutinho, 1936) 38.3%, Undetermined Lutzomyia 8.4%, 1 species of the genus Brumptomyia: Brumptomyia brumpti (Pinto, 1926), 12.7%, Brumptomyia sp. 6.3%. In total 19 males and 28 females were captured. Among the captured species, three are important epidemiological because they are incriminated in the transmission of American Cutaneous Leishmaniasis: flaviscutellata, L. neivai and L. whitmani. From these data, we can conclude that the presence of transmitting vectors at zoo area requires of the Sabia Park constant monitoring by the responsible agencies, as it imposes a health risk on the visitors and workers of the park.
