Resumo: | Running events is one of the fastest growing sports in Brazil and in the world contemplating not only improving health and quality of life, but also sports performance. Recently, it has been hypothesized that the greater trunk inclination during the running would be related to the lack of strength and resistance of the core muscles, especially in beginner runners. However, few studies have evaluated the relationship between kinematics in the incremental run test with core resistance and strength. Thus, the objective of the study was to analyze the relationship between the measures of strength and resistance of core with changes in trunk kinematics from an incremental submaximal test in runners with different types of physical conditioning. Thirty nongendered, healthy, physically active runners were evaluated at least twice a week. The tests were separated into four distinct days, where the participants performed the familiarization, core strength test, core global resistance test and kinematic analysis from a submaximal incremental test. The results showed an increase in the extension strength (p <0.05) of the Advanced Runners (AR) compared to the Beginner Runners (BR). The Intermediate Runner (IR) (P <0.05) and AR (P <0.01) showed an increase in execution time in the core global resistance test. Regarding the flexion angle of the trunk, there was an increase in IR alone (P <0.05). Thus, it is possible to conclude that the measures of force and resistance of the core exhibited unexpected correlations with the kinematic changes of the angle of inclination of the trunk and require a more in depth investigation to determine the significance of these relations. |
