Malformações congênitas do sistema digestório e da parede abdominal em um hospital público mineiro

According to Melo and Pacheco (2012), inborn malformations are defects on the structure, shape and/or organ, cells or cellular component’s function present before birth and initiated in any fetal development’s phase. The research aims to describe the digestive system and abdominal wall’s inborn malformation occurrence in newborns admitted in a Minas Gerais public hospital, and to relate this with the mother’s profile; meaning that, aims to identify the digestive system and abdominal wall’s inborn malformation cases amount; to characterize the newborns with these conditions as to, gender, gestational age, birth weight, gestational age and birth weight relationship, hospital internment time and death; and also characterize the newborns mothers in the following criterion: origin, age, birth type, prenatal consultation amount, drug use during pregnancy (legal and illegal) and diabetes presence. It is a quantitative, documentary, retrospective and descriptive research performed according to the 466/12 CNS/MS Resolution, at the Medical Archive unit from a Minas Gerais’s public hospital, with the newborns medical records admitted at the maternity, nursery and neonatal intensive care unit, since January, 2016, until December of the same year. Fifty two newborns with digestive system and abdominal wall’s inborn malformation were identified; Where 37, 2% of those, presented biliary tract narrowing and stenosis; 57, 7% were born to term; 53, 8% weighted 2500 grams or greater; 80, 7% were considered suitable to gestational age; 28, 8% evolved to death; the average hospital internment time was 33, 3 days; and there weren’t gender differentiation. As to the newborns mothers, 75% lived at the surveyed city, 67, 3% went through caesarean; 80, 8% had ages between 15 and 35 years old; 75% performed less than 6 prenatal consults; 88, 5% reported not having used drugs during pregnancy; 51, 9% didn’t presented any pathology during pregnancy. Although this research was restricted in a short period of time, only the year of 2016, we hope that it serves as anincitement to other researchers to deepen in this subject, since it is a very poorly discussed one.
