The aim of the present work is to analyze how Vilem Flusser (1920-1991) interprets the “informational turn in Philosophy”, taking as basis the model of the cybernetic society focused on the use of technical apparatuses producers of images. Flusser defines “apparatus” based on notion of black box, analyzing it from the photographic device’s prototype, as well he analyzies the “technical image” from the photograph. The philosopher’s central thesis is that technical apparatuses resemble human beings, because they deny the Second Principle of Thermodynamics, in other words, entropy, insofar as it produces new information. Starting from exposition of what has the “informational turn in Philosophy” meant, and from its implications for information’s concept inside the scope of philosophical research since the 1950’s, we’ve sought to consider the Flusserian philosophy’s main concepts which attest to a “theory of information” based on assumptions of Norbert Wiener’s cyber science. This means that, in Flusserian philosophy, the notion of information is correlated with the following concepts: new information; Black box; entropy; feedback; among others as input and output. As a conclusion, Flusser points to the need to analyze post-history, if we want to understand the societies programmed by apparatuses: so, the first step is to think about the universe of technical images.
