Geotechnologies have advanced strongly in recent years. Mapping is one of the areas that has benefited from the advances in these technologies. Examples are the Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs), which are currently used for this purpose. The use of RPA was recently approved in Brazil for the georeferencing of rural properties, but with restrictions. The variation of physiographic aspects present in the national territory makes the mapping of large areas different from the level of information obtained in small areas. Therefore, the use of RPAs can provide agility in obtaining data, with reliability and low cost, accelerating the mapping process. Georeferencing is the mapping that was created to establish a standard for specific rural property records, based on law 10.267/2001. In this mapping, the property boundaries must be determined by georeferenced coordinates to the Brazilian Geodetic System. These coordinates have positional precision set by INCRA (National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform). Thus, this research sought to evaluate the feasibility of using RPA technology for the purpose of georeferencing rural properties, especially in the survey of artificial vertices. For this, two surveys of a rural property were carried out, one conventional, with GNSS receiver, and the other with aerial survey using RPA. The results showed that the aerial survey presented a geometric quality superior to that demanded by current regulations in the country, being, therefore, a recommended tool for this purpose.
