Atendimento nutricional em grupo de pacientes candidatos a cirurgia bariátrica: repercussões no consumo alimentar

Surgical treatment of obesity is indicated for patients with severe obesity (BMI ≥ 50 kg / m²), or BMI ≥ 40 kg / m² with or without comorbidities, or BMI> 35 kg / m² with comorbidities, which do not achieve good results with the others clinical procedures. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of the group nutritional intervention program on food consumption and the anthropometric parameters of samples used for bariatric surgery at the Clinical Hospital of the Federal University of Uberlândia. The study was prospective with quantitative data analysis. Data collection was performed by observing weekly outpatient group meetings and secondary data. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and t-test, with correlation analysis. Twenty-four patients assisted at the HC-UFU outpatient clinic in 2019 were included in the study. This study demonstrated the best dietary levels and reduced carbohydrate consumption (p = 0.023) at the end of nutritional care. There was increased calcium (p = 0.019) and vitamin B12 intake (p = 0.005), weight reduction (p = 0.000), BMI (p = 0.001), chest circumference (p = 0.017), neck (p = 0.049) )) and calf (p = 0.037). The follow-up and nutritional intervention in the preoperative group of bariatric surgery was positive regarding the loss of measurements and body weight. The actions of nutritional education in the care of the group demonstrated a relevant strategy to improve the eating pattern of the patients.
