Invisibilidade social e refugiados: Uma revisão da literatura

Social invisibility is a minimal way for a person to appear in the public space, and despite his small appearance, it is as if the subject did not exist. There is also the perspective that the act of not seeing another has a social significance, making it a kind of intersubjective agreement for a particular group to be "unseen" following a social criterion, stigma or prejudice. In this paper we will discuss the social invisibility of refugees. Refugees are those who leave their countries of origin motivated by persecutions related to religion, race, nationality, social group or political position. This work’s objective is to establish, through an integrative review of the literature, a panorama of the scientific production about the social invisibility experienced by the refugees. SciELO, LILACS and PePSIC platforms were used in an attempt to find scientific production on social invisibility and refugees. The references were submitted to seven evaluation criteria, namely: source, sample, methodological approach, research design, instruments, objectives and main findings. It was noticed that the references are qualitative, being in the majority documentary and bibliographical researches. Moreover, there are few works of psychology on the subject. There is also a shortage in the amount of written work on the social invisibility of refugees. The results make us think about the need to develop more researches about social invisibility experienced by refugees in Psychology and in Brazilian territory.
