ABSTRACT In this work we approach the existence of God in a litlle part of the work of Thomas Aquinas, Summa Teologhiae, part I, question 2, where he aims to show that Aristotle's thought was not contrary to the Christian faith, and was successful, since it was found that between the stagirist philosophy and Christian doctrine , there was a great harmony. Thomas was a dedicated scholar, within the limit of his time. With genius intuitions even without possessing all the works of the philosopher, and these intuitions were confirmed in posterity as the most authentic thought of the Author in question, so today it is unanimous to recognize in Thomas the best interpreter of the period of Aristotle. You then take the concept of knowledge to demonstrate that it is possible to prove existence in a metaphysical entity by reason where there is no need for divine faith or revelation to show that the question of the existence of God is also a philosophical question. In the text we emphasize that for Thomas the existence of God depends on the sensitive experience, which is a posteriori. In this study I have no discussion with other philosophers or other sciences, but I show the probable solution that Thomas gives to the existence of God different from that of other authors in this same question, because it is philosophical reason itself that seeks to know the truth. It does not prove what God is, and it is not the intention, but it proves that God exists. And that Thomas proves that there is a God, for the question of the divine attributes which, although prolonging the evidence, is not part of the argument about the existence of such an entity.
