Resumo: The present study discuss the permanence of marriage in contemporary society, focusing on the reasons that lead women to choose this form of relationship. The research is based on sociological analyzes by several authors such as Bauman, Giddens, Scott, Haraway, Federici and Butler, exploring the social and cultural contexts that influence this decision. We seek to understand the factors that affect the choice of marriage, including social pressures, gender norms, and family and social expectations. Through qualitative methods, such as interviews and discourse analysis, the results reveal a diversity of women's perspectives on marriage, addressing topics such as freedom, commitment and expectations. It is concluded that the continued relevance of marriage is shaped by a complex interaction between cultural and social elements, reflecting the multiple motivations and meanings attributed to this institution.

Busca-se compreender os fatores que afetam a escolha do casamento, incluindo pressões sociais, normas de gênero e expectativas familiares e sociais. Por meio de métodos qualitativos, como entrevistas e análises de discurso, os resultados revelam uma diversidade de perspectivas das mulheres sobre o casamento, abordando temas como liberdade, compromisso e expectativas.
