Resumo: | With the advancement of the sugar-energy sector, increased opportunities to achieve higher productivity at lower costs and the fierce search for greater productivity in the sugarcane sector, the balance of fertilization becomes increasingly important. Due to the increase in the price of fertilizers and chemical fertilizers, the search for viable alternatives becomes increasingly essential for sustainable agriculture. Thus, there is a growing need to seek other nutritional sources, such as basalt powder. The use of rock dust can become an important ally in reducing the costs of fertilizing sugarcane fields and in remineralizing the soil. The work was carried out using mini-cutlets of the IACSP 95 5094 variety in 25 dm-3 vases, positioned on concrete benches, in the greenhouse on the Umuarama Campus of the Federal University of Uberlândia, in Uberlândia - MG. The experimental design used was randomized blocks, with 5 treatments: T0 (control, without basalt powder); T30 (30 t ha-1 basalt powder); T60 (60 t ha-1 basalt powder); T90 (90 t ha-1 basalt powder); T120 (120 t ha-1 basalt powder) and 4 repetitions. The experimental unit was 25 dm-3 vases, with two mini-cutlets of the IACSP 95 5094 variety. Sixty-five days after planting, plant height, number of leaves, fresh shoot mass, fresh root mass, mass of dry aerial part and dry root mass. Basalt powder did not have a significant effect on the initial development of sugarcane. |
