Parto humanizado e empoderamento feminino: estudo de caso do grupo Flore Ser em Uberlândia/MG

In this work, we carried out a case study of the Flore Ser Group in the city of Uberlândia / MG, where we analyzed the preparation of pregnant women for the moment of delivery, seeking to understand the relationship between the struggle of pregnant women for a humanized delivery and their empowerment. In Brazil, the hospital birth has made it possible to save the life of mother and baby in cases of pregnancy risk or complications in childbirth. However, the country has a rate of caesarean section above 50%, much higher than the recommendation of the World Health Organization, which indicates that the rate should be at most 10%. To reduce unnecessary caesarean sections and cases of obstetric violence, the Ministry of Health has launched the National Program for Humanization of Prenatal and Birth(PNHPN) - Stork Network, with a specific notebook aimed at the humanization of childbirth in the country's public hospitals. The city of Uberlândia has humanization projects for childbirth in its two public hospitals, the Municipal Hospital and the Hospital das Clínicas, as well as professionals working in private hospitals and groups focused on the orientation of pregnant women. In order to understand how humanized childbirth occurs in this city we choose one of the groups that fight for its defense and expansion. One of the objectives of the Flore Ser group is to help women to experience an active, humanized delivery with fewer unnecessary interventions and in which they can take care of their birth. For this purpose, several activities are promoted, such as the pregnant women wheel, the postpartum wheel, and some courses to learn about the physiology of childbirth and learn the first care with the newborn. Through interviews with pregnant women participating in the group, it was possible to obtain data on how the orientation for humanized delivery occurs, why they seek a more natural birth, and if they develop a greater empowerment in this situation.
