The objective of this project is the analysis of the application of a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) in a grain processing company, focusing on the implementation in the corn production sector, from reception, separation, straw removal, analysis, sample collection, drying , threshing and other parts of the process such as classification and treatment. The corn processing industry as well as agribusiness as a whole in Brazil generates thousands of jobs every year, and the large number of technologies on the market together with the great competitiveness makes the sector exposed to an infinite universe of management possibilities and a huge volume of data, both following the demanding production requirements of customers. The contributions of this work are centered on an engineering study focusing on the areas of machinery sensing, supervisory automation and control systems, information flow characteristic of industrial networks and databases, all related to the corn beneficiation process, aiming to control to improve the product by scoring a real situation and analyzing possible approaches. This project will provide the manager of this branch with analysis results and the possibility of understanding how beneficial an MES system can be in his plant, thus helping in the decision for implementation.
